The Texas Open, known as the Valero Texas Open for sponsorship reasons, is a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour, played near San Antonio, Texas. It dates back 100 years to 1922, when it was first called the Texas Open; San Antonio-based Valero Energy Corporation took over in 2002.

About The Event
TPC San Antonio opened in January 2010 with two 18-hole championship golf courses designed by two of golf’s most innovative architects: Pete Dye and Greg Norman. The golf courses offer two different playing experiences. Norman, who collaborated with Sergio Garcia on The Oaks course, features narrow, tree-lined fairways. The Canyons course features wide fairways and panoramic views of the adjoining 700+ acre nature preserve. The Oaks course has served as the venue for the PGA TOUR’s Valero Texas Open since 2010.
